Good setup for BF2?

Hi im new to the forums and somewhat to battefield 2 :p
My comp is like 3 years old and its a family computer and im gonna buy my own in a couple of months wondering if this would be a good setup for bf2

This a good setup this will be my first computer ive ever built and reading up on how to put it all together and having some friends help me to whos built one b4, NE suggestions?

Not bad, what sort of budget do you have?

My personal recommendations:

PSU: Find a case that does not have a PSU already pre-installed as they tend to be somewhat lacklustre in performance under high loads. Buy them separate, a good Antec TruePower 480W will set you back about $100USD but will offer a rock solid power solution with it's dual rail +12V lines and dedicated casefan molexes. With almost 40amps you can expand your system far beyond your current setup and still have plenty spare

CPU: Good choice however I would try and look for a Venice core since it has support for the SSE3 instruction set, or even better a San Diego core as it also has SSE3 + a 1MB L2 cache which is a monster in gaming, you may need to go for a higher speed for the SD core though but that depends on your budget and how much you are willing to spend.

Sound Card: You don't seem to have picked one... are you going with the onboard solution? I would highly recommend not doing so as the Realtec/AC97 chips are really not designed for gaming, especially in today's games where they make high use of 3D positional audio and environmental effects. Onboard sound chips require the main CPU to make the necessary calculations where as a dedicated card has it's own allowing the CPU to get on with crunching the game and not the sound aswell. I would very much recommend forking out the extra $50 or so for an Audigy 2ZS, I have one and the difference is immeasurable against onboard.

The system is a good one as it stands, my suggestions are optional tips to make it better.

yes i did choose a different power supply because i read the review on that case and the guy said his stock power supply crapped out after a month he used it and i dont think im goin with that processor or the water cooling considering im on a 1500 budget for the comp only and yes i am buying a different sound card rather than onbaord card o and i chose a new video card instead of the one i posted above
