    Question for Snipers

    Hey there folks!!

Had some weird shtuff happen to me today which leads me to post this question for you all out there.

Using an M24 rifle if I have a target stationary with my crosshairs dead center on the target for a total time of about 2-2.5 seconds with zero mouse movement on my part because I use the left shift key to fire. What would cause me to miss?

Had this happen wayyyy to many times today on one server.

Any constructive input is welcome and appreciated.

Possible lag, or the stupid game not being very good with snipers.

I've had this same exact problem tell ya the truth, I coulda swore I'd hit him 3 times. Nope....

It's the dumb accuracy, they really need to fix the m24.(accuracy wise, if my crosshairs are over a person, they're hit)

Accuracy wise the m24 is fantastic. I have hit many a people in the head with all snipers and all i see is a puff of white smoke and no damage is dealt. I can stand missing, but hitting a guy in the head and seing it pisses you off when they dont fall over. Also the type of surface you are on affects the bullet try to set yourself on anything flat and i gurantee if you shoot at a guy with the m24 or any sniper for that matter it will hit or will at least show a hit. And also practice practice I hated snipers when I first started, now that is the only kit im using. And ive never kicked more ass.

Y would ur shoot button be Left Shift? But besides that is is either lag, you graphics are low, or those invisible lag.
-If your graphis are low it may show part of a person being there when there really isnt (this is common when aiming for the head)
-Or on some spots in certain levels (karkand) There are certain points wher you cant shoot in certain directions from because there are "invisable walls"
-or u could be laggin :)

He uses the left shift vice the mouse so the crosshairs don't move when he shoots. When you press the mouse key to fire your crosshair tends to move.

It depends, the m24 seems hard to aim and hit, but at those great distances you have to lead and compensate and elevate and all that stuff, My accuracy being a Sniper is not great (was 47% accuracy) but I think it will go up as I get more practice. The best part of shooting at someone is when they give me second, third, and fourth chances! I mean if you hear the crack and you hear the wizzing by of the bullet you have to run for cover! Some guys just lay there prone and start trying to crawl away with NO cover. They end up dead.

Interesting bit with the graphics info. Mine aren't really low. Kind of midrange-ish at the moment, I'll have to bump up a few settings to see if that helps at all.
