    * REAL * Video of the Gatling Gun

    You know why the Blackhawks are so dominant in BF2? It's because the Gatling gun is modeled after the real thing. Want proof? See the video. It's just over 3 minutes of live demonstration.

    See http://www.bf2blog.net for the link to the video. It is in .wmv format.

      its not realistic. minigun cant blow up an apc in 3 seconds. miniguns dont have unlimted ammo. blackhawks do not have armour stronger than a tank. its a game. its been posted a couple of hundred times before.

        In real life, the minigun shots would make a very nice rapid pinging noise on the side of an APC. It wouldn't hurt it, other wise what kind of tank are you in if it gets shot up by bullets?

        Even if there are masses of them coming at you at incredibly high speeds.

          As I said, it is 'modeled' after the real thing...

          Definitions of model on the Web

          a simplified description of a complex entity or process;
          something worthy of imitation;
          a representative form or pattern;
          create a representation or model of;

          I could go on ... but I won't. It's "just a game".

            Well, that would depend on what type of round your using, wouldn't it? The gatling cannon on the A-10 fires depleted uranium rounds that go straight through armor on tanks.

            edit- I should say that's a cannon, not a minigun before the flameboys come for me.

            But alas, this is another one of those "realism nazi" threads, that I probably shouldn't be responding to because it probably makes me as much of a troll as the original poster.

                    Great video. I would have preferred hearing the thing in action rather than opera music mind you...

                      BUt again, the rounds from a avenger cannon are like 3 times the size of a 7.62 round, so it makes sense.

                        the htread is about the movie, and the minigun in BH is modelled to the minigun in this movie , like everything is the game is modelled to something, but it doesn't mean it's realistic, some people here, always the same (glasseye) should stop beeing an @sshole and whine over everything and totaly missing the point of some threads

                            From a quick googling - the m-134 has a recoil of around 270lbs (quite impressive), the A-10 cannon has a recoil of around 10,000lbs...

                            You could load the m-134 with kryptonite and I imagine you might damage the tank's paintwork...
                            On the other hand, if you fired the A-10 cannon from a blackhawk, then the lateral forces would probably separate the chopper from the rotors...

                              it's just about a video man, and that the minigun is modelled after the miniguns in the movie, and in the movie they are freaking powerfull and in the game they are freaking powerfull, simple as that. BF2 is an arcade shooter and they added the fact you can shoot APC 's to pieces with it, so....

                              But no, like in every other topic you must start braging, complaining, .... about it
