Just the thrill of finding a Decent Place, where nobody can find you. And Owning everyone below.. Here are a few pics i got when doing this in Sharqi Pensula or whatver the map is, i was right on top of the PLane near the construction site.. Which i know is a well known place, but not one person spotted me..

I ended up getting a score of like 30 (15 Deaths ) and 0 Death, From just camping up there and shooting everyone in the nearby enemy bases





Just all of the screenies i got, but realise i had another enemy in site on each pic and i had just killed an enemy, im not boasting or anything :P Just saying how effective Sniping can be. Was great fun

you hid on the crane on mashtuur? who would ever think of checking there?

if the enemy is silly enough to not take cover, more power to you.

Mashtuur? I thought it was Penusla or something.. Anyway.. Yeh i was quite surprised no-body even looked up there at all...

It is indeed Sharqi Peninsula and not Mashtuur. If on the US side, I regularly go sniper on that map and do just the same thing. It's great fun and like you say you can notch up quite a handsome score from that crane. If you do get spotted however, then it's curtains, but it is curious how often the enemy players don't actually think of checking the crane...

Yes, i actually quite favour sniping and more "Town Like" Maps.. And i just camp it up on one of the roof tops and just wait for the enemys. But i dont find it to work so much on the more Jungle/ Bush Type maps, and im going to try get better at sniping on those type of maps.

Actually lots of people think about it, just not at the time. Whenever I get killed randomly by any sort of sniper weapon (M95, etc) or some other rifles such as the G36C, etc, I often look at the crane. I take out alot of snipers this way with my G36C. The only difference is I have more mobility than they do.

Occasionally if I'm whoring that attack chopper or an APC I'll fire some rounds into the tower just to let anyone know who's there that I've found them.

Any assault rifle can take out crane snipers from the ground, once they start camping they are an easy kill

The funny thing is that crane sniping has kind of come "full circle". At first everyone was on the cranes in every map that had them. Well, people caught on and watched those cranes closely and made them 10 story deathtraps. Most snipers gave up on the cranes for a while (I know I have) but things have settled down and I see more snipers headed back up there. Which is good because I still dont use them but I'm always watching them.

Except for the Commander Scans and UAVs. . . There aren't any hiding places in this game.

You know any good commander will spot snipers. I've noticed that the number of commanders doing that has decreased substantially since the beginning of the game. Perhaps commanders are too afraid of getting booted for "Spot spam"?

well, franly I believe the commanders Scan function is way too "powerfull". I dont mind UAVs, but highlight every soldier at the entire battlefield no matter how well hidden he is is just too much imho.
