infantry only maps

I wish Dice would release an official map pack with infantry maps w/o the tanks and LAVs for us who love ground pounding

I wonder who they were thinking of when they designed the maps we have now. there's a few really good maps and most are so so. but Clean sweep has to be the worst map for someone who wants to put their feet on the ground

I got on my clan server earlier and the map was CS so i played 1 round before i just couldn't take it any more. I died 18 times and not 1 time from small arms fire. I was on MEC and the plane was gone of course and all the APCs and tanks were being occupied. so i had to huff it or use the jeeps and boats. for me no biggie but as the round went on it became more and more frustrating for me and i'm sure others aswell. i was killed several times by armor and then arty. then bombs that magically found me even though i wasn't near anything worth dropping bombs on, and once by C4. in the end i only saw 3 people on foot and i dispatched them easily but look at my score and OMG. i almost got another purple heart which i never want again.

this crap isn't helping my kill death ratio. god i hope we get some whore vehicle free maps soon

I suggest you play CS : S or something because Battlefield is about combined troop/vehicle/air warefare.

Although the most popular maps (by far) are the street maps, the essential thing is they still require armour and vehicles to break deadlocks or the map becomes stagnant.

I used to play CSS.. But I would deffentaly rather play BF2 now..

I entirely agree...I would love some maps which were foot soldiers only...maybe 1 or 2 humvees for good measure.

I am on the verge of ditching this game purely due to airpower and spawn camping by armour. These, and a few other things, are totally ruining this game for me. BF2 could be an absolute classic groundbreaking game if they ironed out a few things. However, im sure there is also a large percentage of people who love all the things I hate...so thats not going to happen.

Oh well AA here I come again...

i have no desire to play CS but what i'm saying is that it's a very frustrating game if you get stuck on your feet on maps like Clean sweep and a few others

the tanks don't really bother me when it's just that but when you have SH60s F15s arty LAVs everywhere it's kind of tough to combat that while you're on the ground

Yeh thats true, i would also like a INfantry only map

I think it would just make everything alot more fair and maybe more enjoyable... Although theres nothing really wrong with Tanks or planes or anything, it is annoying when you want to get some Gun Kills and a tank or F-15 Comes up and Bomb's your ass

The expansion pack is focusing on only infantry maps with a few lightly armoured vehichles not many tho(you can take them out with grenades easily)

Yeah Im a big fan of Urban only maps, I can deal with occasional tanks and other bits of vehicles, but on maps just like you said it seems like 90% of your deaths arent from infantry but form a vehicle/plane etc,,

Some times I think on those maps the best way to pwn **** is just everyone pick AT, maybe a few support/medics for the ammo and first aid, and a few Spec Ops for some sneaky tank C4'ing.

But all in all engy is worthless casue your own tank guys need lanes, plus youll get smashed with TK, Assualt...useless, Sniper...have a fun time sittign in the trees watchign the tanks go by. Basically Im bettign a full team of AT could own most maps. Lay in the bushes 4 guys as At, 2 rockets do in a tank, and if any even die respawn will have them back before the flag gets a scratch..
Good idea..no..just exposes the lameness in certain maps and vehicle spawn.
Quick fix, limit heavy Armor to long spawns, speed up light stuff (jeep, buggy, carrier) for the long travel time.

I mean who hasnt noticed on some maps your favorite kit is utterly useless.

I find it funny that BF is supposed to be based around the vehicles but everyone's favorite maps are usually the ones with the least amount of them. I'm sure everyone gets tired of the tanks spawn camping and the jets constantly bombing respawns, the blackhawks flag jumping and the attack choppers blasting 8 rockets at a single infantry soldier. I think things would be a lot more balanced if vehicles didnt respawn as soon as they were blown up, maybe a 1 or 2 minute delay.
