So, I got this brand-spanking new laptop with a bunch of cool stuff inside, only to be disappointed because BF2 does not support most of the features. Anyways, I'll outline the problems.
First off, I have a Dell Inspiron 9300 with the following specs:
-Intel® Pentium® M Processor 730 (1.60 GHz/2MB Cache/533MHz FSB)
-17 inch UltraSharp™ Wide Screen XGA+ Display
-1GB Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 533MHz 2 Dimm
-100GB Hard Drive
-256MB NVIDA® GeForce™ Go 6800
Ok, first problem. I think Half Life 2 has the option of changing the proportions to 16:9 to cope with widescreen monitors like mine, but BF2 does not, or at least none that I saw. Is there a third party program that can help me with this? Or can I change the config files or something to get it to work? Also, the maximum resolution that I can select from the list is 1024x768, and in-game on something like this really sucks, there are jaggies everywhere.
Second problem. I have a shadow problem that could probably be fixed by the nvidia driver, but since I have a GeForce 6800 Go (please note the "Go" part), the drivers doesn't seem to want to install. It says: "The NVIDIA Setup program could not locate any drivers that are compatible with your current hardware. Setup will now exit." Is there a third-party program that could fix this? Is NVIDIA working on solving this problem? And... should I e-mail them about it? I doubt that I'd get a reply.
