I have a microphone headset, plugged it in, I can hear myself, etc. I'm in a game (I've tried it with several servers) I press "b" and the little speaker graphic appears beneath the HUD, and apparently no one can hear me. How do I set it up so I can talk with a mic.?

If the little green speaker icon shows up, then the game is capturing your voice. The problem might be 1.) the signal is barely past the capture threshold, and therefore, your voice is hard to hear, or 2.) everyone is just shy and has no interest in talking back. :p If the former, try increasing your soundcard's recording level, i.e., boost it. -

Or your on a server that doesnt allow them, but i have the same issue but its annoying because the only person who cant hear me is my friend, but i can hear him....Comment

Mute your Mic in the volume control. This doesn't mean that your mic is not capturing anymore. It means that you won't be able to hear what you're saying.
Would bee good to know at least what soundcard you are using...
I have my threshold at 2% but I use a very good headset from Sennheiser.Comment
