ati released the driver a eeek ago, and a week ago there where like 5 threads about it.

I have the 5.8 drivers for my X800
work way better then the 5.7, no more blocke shadow textures or living mountains

Re: ATI releases Catalyst 5.8 for Radeon cards

I installed the 5.8 for my X300...and I don't know if it's my settings but my gun looks awfully dark. I haven't had a change to tweak my BF2 settings, but right now...I'm not happy.

I'll probably go back to the 5.7's.

Then again...I think I might buy the x800xt today. MUAHAHAHA.

Read their "what fixed" releast notes that comes with the release instead of asking someone here to read it for you.

And welcome to a week ago.

If you want some good drivers and like to customize try the Omega's using the 5.7 Catalyst

Chances are you have a corrupt instalation. Uninstall 5.8 using the catalyst uninstaller available at the ATI site. Then reinstall 5.8.

Never install a driver on top of another driver.
