No, wouldn't work. There's not enough time in the round. If you die for every couple of kills (unless the idiots are stupid enough to fill the blackhawk every single time) and you have to wait for the jet to respawn, you won't get the ribbon. Trust me, cause I had to carpet bomb on Clean Sweep, getting 3-4 kills on every bombing run, and it didn't give me the ribbon until there was like, 5 tickets left in the round... and I died once.

And that is the fear that ensues when you hear the screeching engines of a kamikaze pilot. It's uses are similar to the Jihad Jeep. When things get desperate things come to desperate measures. But when they're winning, wasting a jet is stupid.

Well we have suicide bombers in real life (or used to) so why can't we do it in BF2? :p

I never crash into the enemy because i think its cheap but sometimes i do it by accident.

I can understand ramming into a chopper as a last resort, but I don't understand why someone would want to ram their jet into infantry (happens to me quite ab bit).

It's what some people call it when people work together as a team to utilise the SeaHawk helo. Apparently, some people think DICE put it there strictly for looks.

Did it in Veitnam didnt they then, whats the problem, seems far to me but it runs a risk because a well place missile could get you loads of points

                      lol seahawk?

...speaking of ramming, how about accidental ramming -- the opponents attack helo was spawn killing on dailan plant, so I flew after his ass to take him out, a J10 pilot flies by to reload, rams me, and punishes me for hovering over the runway....ugh.

we're in helos, we're not going 23945832109 mph, we cant move like u can......

                        Re: Aircraft Ramming

Actually it is what people call it when a group of schmucks sit in a transport helo (most notably the seahawk/blackhawk because of its overbalancing) and let someone fly around from CP to CP so they can all rack up teampoints and kill assists while the rest of their team is getting slaughtered because rougly 2/3 of the team is just flying around capping flags which only stay held for a half a minute after the chopper leaves.

Apparently some people think DICE put it there strictly as a personal piont-generator rather than a tool that should be used to help your team win games.

Anyway, to the topic at hand, there are plenty of circumstances in which I've found it makes as more sense to ram a chopper than it does to put a few rounds into it, swing around, and repeat. Most of these involve having an enemy fighter on your rear so you're not going to live if you try to make a second pass, let alone if you try to go hunt some bomber that you aren't really sure where it is. So, I get to choose from a probable death, no kills, and a chopper continuing to terrorize my teammates on the ground, or I get a death, anywhere from two to six kills, and one less helicopter in the air.

If you were on the ground, which would YOU prefer your pilot do?

                            Agreed.

The comment above about Kamikaze Pilots is valid, but hey, they got 1 shot at it. In BF2, you get a shot everytime you do it. Over, and over, and over again. So some jack*ss is jumping in the fighter and ramming the helo every chance he gets, not to help his team, not to get points, not for any other reason that to be an *ssh*le. I've experienced it several times, and then I just get a clan mate on Ventrilo to go C4 his jet, and blow his ass up right before he rams me the next time.

I think it's just a really crappy way to play the game. I enjoy seeing people not abuse the game and it's several unbalanced 'features'. Would really like to see bunny hopping and fish flopping patched out, and air defenses beefed up a little bit. I think it would improve my overall gaming experience with BF2.

Keep in mind in the real world weaponary is not balanced. A tank has a visual-hit scope of 4 miles.

An attack helicopter can seriously kill almost anything in sight. Exspecially the gunner on the apache.

An AA missle has little effect on real fighters, since they travel at a speed soo great, it puts them way ahead of any SAT's interception point, making any sort of AA missle useless unless deployed againsed a heli.

'Ship as a weapon' has been my favorite last ditch tactic for years.

                                go with what works.
