    Single Player AI Needs Improvement

Occasionally I enjoy going into single player mode to practice flying, using certain weapons, and just messing around. However, I have found that the ai for my team is quite lacking (even on the higher level of difficulty). Most of the time the computer players will camp around one captured flag, all stairing up at the flag while I (as commander) order the team to attack a different flag. The AI continues to camp that flag and I usually become so frustrated with them that I end up c4ing all of my computer teamates. Other times the computer players run into walls and can't negotiate certain types of terrain. I wish EA and Dice spent more time on single player of Battlefield 2 for those of us who wish to practice offline and also those of us not fortunate enough to have good internet connections. I guess it just proves that companies like these are all about getting a product on the shelves as fast as possible so the execs can buy their new porsches.

I agree, and the option to play on larger sized maps would be great as well. I do not have a good network card to support the online play, but I would not mind having smarter AI on a big map. Oh, and if you play expert mode, the opposing AI is smarter, and have one person extra, while your own AI are a bunch of retards that still do not do anything useful, now that, is expert.......

What game, aside from Operation Flashpoint, can this NOT be said about?

Of course, I believe the better the AI programming is, the more CPU power this would take. Maybe the technology is out there for better AI, but your run-of-the-mill home PC can't handle the processing power needed?

They dont care about single player. That's why they only included 16 player maps for single player - to force people onto multiplayer.

No, they don't punish you, but you still get negative points. "You have been kicked and banned from your computer!" LOL. I can see that now. I was player single-player on BF1942 the other day just for goofs, and was killing everyone I came across - friendly and non-friendly alike. But get this, I still won!

PS - There was a post between my previous two, but the gentleman has apparently decided to delete it. Just don't want anyone to think I was talking to myself! :)
