Servers and points for your stats/awards

I've been playing BF2 for about a month now and recently added the filter to use only servers that had battle rcorder enabled. I then thought- do points that contribute to your award (medals, badges ribbons etc) only add to your stats when battle recorder is on or do they contributer on all servers?

Can anyone clear this up? Cheers

ranked servers is what matters for points to be saved not the recorder

Are you sure, if so a BIG thanksyou as I have been confused by the eratic stats and wondered why i didnt get an award for st simple when I should've had it ages ago. Cheers
