Making My PC A Server....questions

I'm wanting to take my PC and make it a server just for me and my friend to play on and take off team kills and stuff so we can have doing stunts or whatever.

How do I go about making a server on my PC while playing on it?

I loaded the BF2 server launcher but he could never connect to the IP.

I'm very noobish at this so please dont be to cruel:p

For starters wrong forum. Try 127.0.0.1 as the IP and if ur using the GUI to start ur BF2 server make sure you actually select to start server once u have decided on its setup

you will also need to open ports

Try disabling the windows firewall on the nic.
