thanks guys you gave me a lot to think about
The general flying settings. Everything was messed up at the start.
If i wanted to roll left, i would go to the right. Same as when i accelerate it would just slow down. And some other weird stuff..

I first blamed the joystick itself, but it was really the settings ingame which were wrong.

My problem is like the joystick too sensitive, touch it then i have to reajust it. I learnt helecopters are beter with mouse i can fly the planes now except the vertical take off one and thats hit and miss

Logitech Extreme 3d Pro here. Same for my brother.

For a single game, I wouldn't go and buy a $70 joystick. The 3d Pro does all you need, and possibly a little more.

I'm also using the Logitech Extreme 3d Pro - the stick 'twist' is great for rudder controls and there's plenty of keys for remapping (on the base as well as the stick head as well - for squad talking, views, enter/exit, chute, etc.). At $40 bucks a pop it's the best I could find that does all I need. Not bad for a relatively small footprint either.

                Re: Whats the best joystick

I just got a Logitech Attack 3 Joystick for BF2, but am having problems. Seems to not be level when I try to take off with a heli. Any suggestions from the Logitech users out there? I can handle the jets with it pretty well, but I am constantly turning with them, so I don't have to adjust much with the joystick.

Also, is there a way to configure the controls so that when I pull back on the joystick the jet/heli pitches up and when I push forward on the joystick it pitches down? I tried setting the controls for it, but it just set both pitch foward and pitch back to Joystick 0. I even inverted the mouse thing, but I still have to push foward to go up and push back to go down.

When you set the controls, do the opposite of it. For going up, push the joystick down.

I have the exact same joystick and had the exact same problems when i first tried it out.. I just had to keep applying the new settings.. what i think works is after youve sset your controls for the joystick, restart bf2 and the new settings should work.. If it still doesnt then keep pressing apply to the controls... i had the same problem overand over again... it was annoying.

                            Re: Whats the best joystick

Hmm, for a value stick (like under 40 bucks) best bang for the buck is by far the Saitek Cyborg EVO, for complete package, look at the Saitek X52 or the older version, can't remember the name. If you absolutely need the best joystick, you should get the Ch products joystick, the joystick itself is more expensive the the X52 joystick/throttle package, the CH products is almost a complete replica of a F-16 joystick. It's probably the best, and then the rudder pedals, throtte control, and flight yokes (for flight sims) are the same price as the joystick, which is 100 bucks. 400 bucks for th ultimate flying package.

                                Damn that's sick.

I just have the Saitek ST290 Pro. I normally only use the keyboard & mouse, but this stick was only $20 at walmart, so I figured what the hell.
