Whats the best joystick

What is the best joystick for this game, i got a WingMan Force 3D Force feedback but for some reason i fly better with the mouse which i dont fly with. Ithe joystick is wat too tempermental for me and if i go full left i usually turn the chopper and give my members a cool breeze. LOL

I've been using an MS Precision 2 since early '42 days, but they were discontinued a while back. It's a pretty good "quick" stick for these kind of arcade flying games. Fast little throttle you can flick, twist on the stick, and a good amount of buttons. The grip of the stick is pretty comfortable too. If you can find one new, it's worth it. For other hardcore flying games though, I'd go with something else like a CH HOTAS setup w/ pedals.

Oh yeah, TrackIR is nice. I'm using it.

Saitek cyborg evo for me. need some training with helis but not to hard. go practice on an empty server.

What is "deadband" stuff do?

It is like dead space on the stick so you don't drift by the stick being off a little or your hand just being on stick.You should be able to take a helo off the ground without touching your stick and remain level and hovering.MS sticks do this through control panel saitek you have to download the deadband program.Also with saitek you are not suppose to remove it from that usb port because the deadband program adhears to that usb port.

also i forgot:
most flying games have a deadband built in, the battlefield series never really "supported" (lack of better word) joysticks so there isn't a deadband in the game itself.

Always thought the X52 was too bulky for use with BF2, glad to see it works for someone though. Microsoft Precision 2 on my end. Saitek is definately the better way to go.

I've got the same joystick. I prefer flying with it above the mouse (because i suck at using the mouse for that ).

I have no problems at all with it, but i had to adjust all the control settings ingame several times before i could fly like a normal person :hmm:
