Downing a Blackhawk with the SVD

I probably won't unlock the M95, having read several posts about it.
But is it the only sniper being able to shoot through windshields?

A few days ago, I fired the SVD at a blackhawk pilot, and the hovering helo went straight down. I thought that wasnt supposed to be possible. Of course, the chopper was already damaged, so I might have given it the coup de grâce.

Anyway, I think the SVD is underestimated. It sure isnt a good long range weapon, but just try to get close to an enemy base. From a decent hiding place, a good SVD sniper could take down a squad in ten seconds and then get away.

Why won't you unlock the M95?
Its a great weapon, very powerful & accurate, and gets you a one shot kill 50% of the time.

And yes, it's the only sniper able to shoot through windshields.

Strange, because I was credited shooting down that blackout. Does the fuselage take damage from sniper shots?

As for the M95: it makes a lot of noise for starters I also like to play support as well as sniper - and I'd rather have the new machine gun.

The reload alone is enough for me to never bother unlocking it.

I unlocked the M95 and feel it was kind of a waste it was either that or G36C but as I was playing sniper alot when I got promoted I went sniper but I've been picking up others bags after they die and have had a few goes with the G36C and it seems awesome very little recoil and awesome accuracy. But now I play a lot as support but Corporal is so far away from Lance Corporal that I may never get there to unlock one of these two.

Does the fuselage take damage from sniper shots?

The M95 does one notch of damage to vehicles. All except tanks and APC I believe. If you take a shot at a vehicle at the very least you'll get an assist, at best you'll get the credit.

If you spend any prolonged time sniping the M95 is worth it, especially as a MEC replacement. It's as powerful as the US rifle with the added bonus of negating the effects of body armor and armor glass. Laggy servers are more a problem for snipers than gun limitations.

I find it odd that none of you have mentioned that when you get a head shot with a M95 your enemy is killed not wounded...Also, I use this weapon all the time and I find it hard to beleive that all of you have theat much trouble with tacking people out of vehicals all the time. Find a nice spot on the Oilfields and wait for a hummer to cruise by and boom you got a kill.

I shot a gunner with the SVD from a long way (from right flag nearest carrier to the middle nearest carrier in dalin plant), so it could be true.

REALLY, I hadn't noticed. Does that mean they can't be revived by enemy medics? I have to remember to notice that next time when I get a headshot.

Every weapon damages helocopters and jets. Even your pistols.
Taking out a blackhawk with a pistol before. As for the SVD thing. I totally think that it is possible.:)

If you look at the stats, the M95 is just a slightly less accurate M24 with thicker crosshairs.

But more on topic, I like the SVD because it can deliver a quick follow up shot. I've successfully sniped with it - even at long range and even against people in helicopters (although admitedly not behind windscreens). I also shot down a damaged attack helo with the US basic Engie shotgun once =)

I wont unlock this sniper either cause it is powerful but the M24 has a better accuracy so my favorite sniper is M24 and wont waste a unlock with the M95.

when i'll hit corp in 1 week, I'll unlock the PKM

You got the kill because the hawk was already damaged. I've done it with a pistol.

Ever since I unlocked the m95, I've gotten used to it and pwn. I don't get why people bash it, I almost always win in sniper battles. You learn to adapt to what you use, plus the blackhawk kills are nice.
