EA/Dice suck?

At least they are trying to do things about BF2!

I’ve known game companies that just do one patch and then stop all support on their product. (THQ, Red Faction.)

I dont think DICE suck tbh, if they hadn't been time pressured into releasing the game in it unfinished state I think it would have been so much better. But the amount of cash being lost by EA per month must have been quite dramatic so they decided it was ready to be released .. and when it comes down to it, it is EA's desicion as they own DICE.

EA as we all know is all about the money, most of us have read how they treat thier staff and how they treat developers on the whole (if not google it then you will have a rude awakening). They are known as possibly the worst software house to work for in the industry and I only work on the fringes of games developing and in the UK as well, but it is still known even this far accross the water that EA is NOT a good company to work for.

Take this, they used to take 10% or so of thier developers straight out of Highschool or universities now this sounds good but in reality they get inexperianced youngsters who may be programming geniuses but they also lack any 'world experiance' so they are under paid and overworked (60+ hour weeks are the norm) so much so that they are profiting much more by taking on younger programmers because it's more cost effective than keeping on the older more experianced guys who are demanding more money.

The staff turnover is now something like 30% a year and they recruit even more staff straight out of education (I heard figures of 60% bounded around but I don't know if that is now true) . So working for a games developer is not all smiles and enjoyment and playing games, it's hard work with long hours and little downtime. I have a close friend who works for a developer who is owned by EAUK and he averages 62hours a week for the last 9 months as a so called crunch time before a game is released .. this a damn 8+ hours a day every day (although he ususally works a few 12 hour days in there) and this isn't even the beta testing period where it's reputed he will have to work 12 hour days 6 days a week. I'm just glad that I am out of the business and just a plain ol IT admin now :P

So who do you think should have devoloped BF2 ??? Eidos , Valve etc etc
No doubt who done it every one would be bleeting like f00k about them.

EA really sucks because they discontinued the Mutant Leauge Sports line.....It was awsome and needs to make a come back. Mutant leauge BF would be awsome...

I've disliked EA since they purchased/gutted Westwood Studios and turned the Command and Conquer series into a cheap shell of what it once was.

EA Sports still kicks a$$. While BF2 is buggy and has its problems I still enjoy it a great deal. More maps (with less restricted areas) would be nice, though.

Humm why does EA suck well for the money they are bringing in from their games they just arent putting enough effort and or big enough teams togeather working on these games for the pc... just my 2 cents worth

this is the only game they made thats good in my opinion. and this game isnt really good so u figure it out
