how do u think bf2 will run on my NEW rig??

hi, i finally got my new computer today, so plz tell me if BF2 will run with everything set on the highest??

AMD 64 3800+
X800XL 256MB
1 GB of ram
80GB harddrive with 8mb cache
some crappy onboard (but not that crappy) sound card :hmm:
and my BF2 skills:evil:

do u think can run the game smooth (40-60 fps) with everything set on the highest??

you will probably get around 40fps on high if you want to bump it up a bit get a audigy 2zs or something

I have almost the same setup except w/ a x700Pro AGP. I had them set on high w/ AAx2 but would heat up and start glitching. So i just set it all to medium w AAx2. It would take me awhile to join a server so I upgraded my RAM to 2GB (was running 1GB) and my system is quite fast joining servers. You have the x800, so I'm sure you can run your settings on high w/ good cooling temps. Good luck, and let me know how your system runs!

No, you will NOT get all high.

Don't even try.

Then again you don't really need all high.

Effects: High
Geometry: High
Texture: Medium
Lighting: Low
Dynamic Shadows: Off
Dynamic Light: Off
Anti-Aliasing: Off
Texture Filtering: Medium
View Distance Scale: 100%

Running at those settings will give you great looks, performance, and optimal gameplay.

I would reccomend those for anyone actually.

Textures/ Texture filtering should only be on high if you have 2gb of RAM.

i would say 1280x960 medium textures the rest is high 4x AA

try upgrading your RAM. you'll see a big difference.

More true words have not been spoken. There is very little visual difference between the high and medium settings but the performance hit is huge.
