It depends on your hard drive. The bigger mb cach you have the faster you are in, depending. I am usually one of the first ppl in, I have 1 7800 graphics card 2 gig ram 8mb cach hard drive. Im in a mulyplayer server in about 30-45 sec. My buddy has twin raptor drives his PC is almost identical to mine and his load time is shorter then that.

i have to have all of my graphic settings on low
but a game isnt about the graphics, its about having fun ect

im with u man, its good to see that someone appreciates Bf2 as much as i do. there are so many threads complaining about how EA screwed up the latest patch but every game on the market has flaws. i will admit while the exploits and bugs (red tag) occasionally get me aggrevated, bf2 is probably my favorite game out there, bar none.

in answer to ur question i guess some people are just never satisfied. either that or they are jealous because they dont have a rig good enough to play it.

Im not mad at EA or Dice, nothing and nobodys perfect, its not because of that stuff that I get ****ed, its the crapheads that dont play fair. My rig is more then capable of handling everything on high and AA maxed so that is not my prob. I was just flying in the oil fields in j-10, my teamate rams me trying to get in front of me to steal my wounded kill, and tk's me. Do I pun --- NO. He does the same thing again, do I pun--- NO. He does it a 3rd time, I get charged with the tk, does he pun--- YES. BA$TARD.

the game is fine, everyone here likes it enough that they went out looking for a community website and joined a forum to talk about it. If they didn't like it...i'm sure they'd be smart enough to just go find something else to do. But for me the only reason I can come up with is the people that play. From the spawnkillers to the autopunishing team members who get you to tk them(ie stand in front of your jet, i even had one guy keep ramming his quad into anyone that got into a vehicle) Its morons like these and so many many more that ruin this game. Even the people why cry foul and scream hacker any time they get shot by someone more than once.

I wish there was a way to restrict who could join your server. As in certain setting you could choose. Like a certain global score, or so many teamwork points...just something so you already have a gist of the caliber of player in the server you're going to be exposed to. Its just a waste of time to go looking for a server, to only join and find out its full of retards.

One of the reasons why military trained peepz would hate bf2 is because none of their knowledge or skill applies.
Ever tried giving suppressive fire IRL? Everyone ducks for cover.
Ever tried in in BF2? 3 specops guys prone and go shoot at you, because their gun is stronger anyways, and it doesn't really matter if they die.

Same goes for teamplay. Most of the time, teammates just don't do what is the most logical thing to do. If you look at a squad from the outside, you see the most stupid moves being made, and noone even notices anymore:p.

Just my 2 cents...

Hate is too strong an emotion to waste on a video game. That being said, there are a few things that does not impress me at all:
1. A stat/rank/unlock/medal system that encourages and rewards smacktard behaviour, which in turn leads to a state where your teammates are more hazardous to your eHealth than the enemy.
2. Low/no predictability of your guns, due to randomized cone of fire. It's a shooter for chrissakes..lol..the guns have to be right, before anything else. Shooting should be about skill, not about some algorithm that randomly awards you with a hit or a miss. This is so basic in FPS design that even EA should've caught that.
3. Very inferior quality assurance and play-testing lead to a game that was severely unbalanced for a loooong time. To some extent it still is.
4. Inadequate optimization of the code before release - this is nothing new in software development, but it makes a big part of the difference between superior and inferior release management.

BF2 is a good game - it's not a great game (yet). It's "saving grace" is that there is hardly any alternatives to combined-arms shooters with contemporary graphics and a good pedigree. Where else would players go, but to BF2? It's a great market-success and clearly very profitable - but in terms of pure quality, it rates only "good" not "great" in my opinion.

The closest real "contender" (and I put quotation marks there because it never really was - more like the only possible alternative) was Novalogics Joint Ops (which is dead today). They lost out because they fumbled something even more basic than DICE has. This left BF2 unopposed.

Quality and popularity is not synonymous - too many people watching Jerry Springer and eating McDonalds to make that possible.

i was on the verge of quitting cuz of fps issues, but i learn to deal

long loading times, need uber powerful comp to play game well.

ppl who quit the game for hackers and exploiters prob wont play another online fps since all of them have hackers/exploiters
