I recently got into an argument with a certain cow-centric player who was passively bragging about his awesome KD ratio and score per minute. I looked into the matter and found that the entirety of his "uberness" was based on very high KD ratios as a pilot and tanker. After stripping my vehicle KD out of my stats and his vehicle KD out of his, I found that my KD ratio as an infantryman was the same as his.
He's a great pilot but an average infantryman. However, his ranking would have us believe that he's amazing all around, which obviously isn't true.
Question to stats sites:
Is it possible to run some post-processing calculations on stats to rank players in categories instead of in one lump, top 20 list based on one calculation?
We might have Top 20 lists for the top:
Each Top 20 might be calculated differently based on the roles and purposes of each category/class. Some might focus on KD, others might focus on the net amount of revives, kills, and heals.
The point here is to prevent people who tend to take on lower-risk, high-point roles (pilot, tanker) from overshadowing the achievements of no-less-skilled players who take on higher risk, lower-net-point roles. At the very least, it would prevent people from trying to garner undeserved levels of renown, and allow the previously unsung, excellent players of the <support class, for example> to shine.
I am not sure if the parsing would be too intensive to undertake, but I figure I'd leave the technical wetwork to the stats gurus and make the conceptual suggestion anyway.

- Aviators
- Infantrymen
- Commanders
- Kits (one list for each class)
