Scoreboard tab corrupt after Cat 5.8 driver update

Folks,
I have been using the cat 5.6 drivers with battlefield since the demo. No problems. On the ea site yesterday I was encouraged to get 5.8 drivers for a performance boost.
Since installing the ati catalyst 5.8 drivers, the scoreboard that appears when you hit tab is now corrupt. Nothing appears, no text just a blank tab form. Also as the game progresses areas of the geometry appear black and objects (vehicles, players) disappear.
I have uninstalled 5.8, cleaned up the driver residue with pro-clean, installed 5.7 same problem.
I uninstalled 5.7, BF2 and re-installed 5.8 and bf2, patch 1.02. Problem continues.
Anyone see this type of stuff

Yep, Im going to try that later, its 10am over here. The above took me from 6pm until 1 am. Pain in the a$$
I was hoping someone else experienced this and found a fix. There are a lot of 9800 XT's out there, and I expect folks will be upgrading their cat drivers to 5.8.

Yep I've seen it. Everything works fine with Catalyst 5.6. Spiky graphics problems with 5.7 and 5.8. I already reproted it to ATI, might help if a few others do to.

i installed the 5.8 drivers and had huge problems with my screen being black and stuff, so i went back to 5.6 cause they worked well for me now they dont even work. when i hit tab the letters are all messed and so are the shadows in-game. have no idea how to fix this. if u guys figure a fix plz post it.

Never dared to install the previous ones becaus the crashed my system heavily, omega's and ati.
