Tips for getting the Aerial Service and Armored Service ribbons

Aerial Service Ribbon: Operation Clean Sweep 32 player map, with about 20 player. I got it last night playing as MEC, flying the SU-34(?) bomber. I also was a squad leader so one guy spawned next to me. I think I got close to 30 kills with the bombs and 70 points at the end of the game, earning myself the gold. The trick is to fly the bomber as a bomber. You keep a high altitude to get an overview. Then you move in for the kill with the bombs. Go back to the airfield and reload (fly-by), and repeat. Forget about chasing the other bomber around, unless he/she is chasing you around. My co-pilot was pretty good with his missiles also. That helped to improve my overall score.

Armored Service Ribbon: Strike at Karkand 32 player map, with about 20 player. I got this one also last night. I think I met the requirements for this ribbon earlier, but probably the server wasn't updating properly. Anyway I played as USMC using the tank and the APC. The APC worked best for me. It was rather easy when you know when to attack, and when to take cover. I always though I had to take down 19 armors with an armor class vehicle, but that is not correct.

I'm gonna try get the Helicopter Service ribbon next, but dunno which map is the best. Probably Sharqi Peninsula. Any ideas?

Gulf of Oman is hell for choppers, way too much AA and jets around there.
Sharqi is the best for the helicopter ribbon (at least, that's where I got it )

Okay, I got both of these in the last few days, and here is my tips. note I'm not that great a tanker or pilot, but as long as you keep focuses, the main problem can be time. I got Aerial First go (Dragon), and Armour (Kubra) after my 10th or so attempt. Whilst I was "focused" even if I failed the award, I came first or 2nd a lot.

Aerial - Dragon Valley 64 Player, with anywhere from 16 per side to 30, as USMC (as you can't get capped), and just bomb the little squares. I got mine first go doing this, don't bother attacking other planes, or helos (although a full transport helo or something is worth ramming for sure). Learn to bomb, go back around, bomb and back like a true plane whore. Prepare to get a lot of tk's and PTK's. I barely managed to stay in the server (I ended with 4 PTKs, and -27 teamwork score), once you get the kills, if you think you'll be close on the time limit, simply fly above your carrier in tight circles, you are untouchable.

I would think Clean Sweep is a problem simply because it's so wide and open and lot's of threats. Dragon is a very narrow map, which makes it optimal for doing simple bombing runs with little opposition, if the Chi J-10's attack you, go back to base and let the essex take them out. Secondary choice would be Fu She Pass, or Kubra perhaps.

Armour - Use Kubra Dam (again, 64 player map with 18-28 players) as USMC, you should be rolling from the UMSC main, up along the big bridge, all the way to the MEC flag next to the dam, where the flag is at a half built building, especially try to get that spawned camped in a LAV with a crate in front of you.

OR you roll down into the valley via the 3 or 4 flags. Mix it up, based on where you see people going etc. My clan-mate got his (he was on MEC) in the same round as me. Secondary Fu She Pass.

Of course be an engineer. Try and get support crates.

The tank is good if you think you'll face armour, but LAV is much much better for taking inf. I had quite a few attempts at this on various maps. The problems:

Dalin Plant - This sounds funny, but there is a distince LACK of armour vehicles, I found it really hard to get a tank on USMC after my first one was killed.

Karkand - Finishes way too quickly, you can get kills, but there is much competition for the only 4 armour vehicles in the map, so you probably won't get half the time required before map finishes.

Re: Tips for getting the Aerial Service and Armored Service ribbons

Here's how to get armored and staff officer ribbon in one rnd

                  - Find Karkand 64 player server with < 20 ppl
                  - go to USMC side

Apply for a commander, with any luck you would not be turned down by player with a higher rank, after that get in tank and go cap flags but don't cap too much so the round won't end, and kill infantry only to get 19 kills, and no more until you get the Staff Officer ribbon....when I pulled that off I had 75 commander pts before double...and remember, to get more commander pts you have to constantly take flags
