spawn camping has been in every online fps game i have ever played. its a ***** tactic only used by people who suck or want to grief other players. in SOF2, one of the most used mods allowed the admins to set different things to fight spawn campers. one was, if you killed a person spawning within the spawn zone, you died too. another one was that you took the same amount of damage you dealt to a person who just spawned within the spawn zone. also, you may be put into a penalty box, where you couldn't play for a set amount of time. that prevented the spawn killing/camping. we could use that in BF2.

If its the other team its spawn camping, if its your team its Tactical Containment.

If I am at war and I have the opportunity to make sure the enemy can not leave there base I will. I just hope there commander doesn’t call my commander and ask him to tell me to stop spawn camping :)

PLUS as other people have said, there is SOOOOOOOO much you could have done

-Spawn as Anti Tank.
-Order and Arti Strike on him.
-Tell your squad to spawn on you as Anti Tank as well.
-Spawn somewhere else and come on with a helo or tank.

What about some sort of "spawning sickness" where you can't fire a weapon OR take damage for a set amount of seconds after spawning? At least when you spawn in a base.

Surely this wouldn't unbalance the game too much.

There is no reason whatsoever to complain about spawn/base camping if you are:-

1) All in squads - So you have somewhere else to spawn
2) Use VOIP - Communicate with teamates about the threat so they know and can take action.
3) React accordingly to threats - and are willing to spawn as anti tank class even if you dont like that class in order to remove threat.

The main reasons spawn/base campers succeed is because :-

1) the above points arent followed.
2) Players are plane camping - not only does this make base camping attractive - it takes soldiers away from the field.
3) Players start moaning about the camper instead of staying focused and dealing with it.

i know what you mean. i think everyone has experienced this on kirkland where the u.s. tank or apc is spawn camping at the forward mec base. spawn camping armor whores. and it's always the same dude with 100+ points and 2 deaths when the game is over. when i see this happening i focus all my attention on that tank to make it as hard as possible for them to do what they are doing. even if i don't do anything but die trying. if i kill them i'll wait at the same spot for them to come back, because they always do - that's their bread and butter. i love it when i can disrupt their game plan. it's amazing to see how low their scores are when you take that advantage away from them.

Waits till we respawn, then shoots us again...
He did that for 7-8 minutes before someone else from his team came in, then after that he came in...

you should never have been the squad leader. if he can slaughter your squad for 7-8 minutes, you cost your team massive points, and deserved every death. I am not condoning any spawn camping/raping tactics, but for christs sake quit being a noob. this is not the manner in which you solve the situation, you kill the guy and move on. do yourself and up to 5 others a favor and never EVER be the squad leader unless you lock the squad with only yourself in.

The guy in the APC was doing his job. His job is to kill the enemy, not let the enemy kill him. I wouldn't have rolled up into that base either.

I was squade leader...
so i could not spawn on squade leader...
The other two guys were with me...
No one else from our team was comming to help us...
We asked but they were fighting somewhere else...

If we spawned at a different location, the base would have been his from the start...
I think he was scared of a medic, support and assault... HAHAHAHA

There are lots of things in games that are exploits... and in reality... they are cheats...
But the rule books never say you cant do it...

You need to use your brain... ( you have one right ? )
If you use the little brain you have, you can see, some things that are not in a rule book, are still not ok to do ... Its really clear and easy to see if you "HAVE A BRAIN"

There are exploints in pretty much every single game made...
Very few games are without any exploitable bugs or exploitable actions...

Its just, some players see this... and DO NOT use them...
And some players ( like you , and the p*ssy i was playing ) DO use them...

Thats why they are called exploits...

Im about 100% sure, Dice, never thought people would spawn camp...
Because the ENTIRE game is about TAKING flags...
Not just shootnig people and NOT taking the flags...

Yup you are right on that. When I am USMC and have a tank or apc on Karkand I sit back and try to take out as many MEC as possible. It allows my team to move forward. Smart enemies actually have an a** of AT guys at the forward spawn point as well as the street mined and then Spec Ops flank around to try to get me with C4. I get killed plenty of times when playing a smart enemy. To me its not spawn camping, just stupid enemies.

Thats what i did, in the end...
I got tired of it...

You know, sometimes i find an AWESOME server where people all play fair...
and just have SOoooo much fun.... Killing and dieing...

Then sometimes you find that UGLY server... Where its full of teenagers with 3 brain cells... That are all competing with eachother... "MY PENIS IS BIGGER THEN YOURS"

That is the feeling... There is no "Fair play" Only WIN AT ANY COST!!!

And it really kills the game for many people... not just me...

It completely changes the "feeling" of the game...

Its too bad...

When i played quake, there were people like this too...
When i played HL1 / Counter strike there were people like this...
Same with the new HL2 / Counter strike...
Same with Delta force...
Same with this game...

Seems like about 90% of people just play to have fun...
Then there is that 10% that ruin the game by exploiting / cheating / hacking there way through the game...

And it kills it for everyone...

Maybe 5 times only...

My worst record for Deaths in a row is something like 10..
And that game, when i died 9 times in a row, without getting one kill... i was not even pissed off... I didnt even notice untill i exited the game and looked at my stats...

10 deaths in a row, without ONE SINGLE KILL...

But those people did not Spawn camp...
They killed me over and over "FAIRLY"

You see, when someone spawn camps, you dont get to fight back...
You just SPAWN, DIE...
Then once i spawned and Hid...
Waited about 2 minutes... After calling for help... ( non came )
So i tried to see if he was there... i peeked around the corner... BAM im dead...
Then i respawn BAM im dead...

Its not really a fight... Its just an exploitation...
DO YOU SEE THe DIFFERENCE!!!

you guys should have all spawned at ATs...sure he might have killed you a couple of times max but you could have killed/drove him off pretty easily.

spawn camping=annoying but there aren't rules against it unless who ever runs the server has a policy against it.
