Mic problems, please help!

okay well this is my first post, i hope im posting in the right place.
anyways, im having trouble with my mic. i can hear other people talking, i can hear everything fine. my problem is i cant talk, i have messed around with that "threshhold" thing (crap) like theres no tomorrow. how do i get my mic working?

Try going to Options - Audio and click on mic boost. That should solve your problem.

i thought it would to, but nothing is working. im wundering if i need to reinstall, would that do anything?

There is also a mic boost in Windows XP Control Panel. Anything beyond that is beyond my comprehension. Good luck.
