I would never ever in the history of my life ever ever buy a PC from a company such as HP. Buy the parts then build it yourself I say, it's usually around $700 cheaper plus it feels much more like your 'own' PC - if that makes sense.

I have an HP besides adding a New Graphics Card it works fine

Well I don`t want to spend alot of money now. It`s called "HomePC" and u rent it from the gross salary. (It`s a goverment campaign to get a PC to every home) This mean I get it 56% cheaper... :) After rend it for 3 years u can buy it for a (usually) small ammount depending of the market value.

It could be stupid because the computer might be good in 3 years but it would be cheap anyway :) Plus I don`t have the money to pay everything it now, I`m a poor student

By some fast calcualtion I would pay 820€ devided in 3 years for both options and then the market value. And as a guess I would say the market value would be around 330€ (by comparing the market value of a 2.2Ghz).

Yeah we have a thing called Flexy-Rent which sounds similar but be aware, adding new hardware to the machine will VOID your HP warranty. So if something farks up down the track, you'll get no help from them... Technically according to most PC warranties, you aren't even allowed to OPEN your case....

Hp and all other pre-built computers are a no no and are frowned apon. I seriously suggest that you custom build to save money and it would be better than those, but if you don't want to custom built that is the best way to go get the 1st one the "HP Pavilion d4294.se, AMD"

If u want to open u just sign a applicationto ur cheif. Last time he had no problem with it :) The first thing I`ll do is to install another HD. If u open it once they will not be able to c if u did it twice

But sure I`ll check what the price would be for a custom build PC as well :)

Yeah you can sign an application with the company requesting to be certified (Able to open up the machine) but you might want to let them know what parts you put in so if you do want a warranty request there will be no complications.

What if you put in a different brand PSU and it blew, also damaging your motherboard and/or memory?

The same thing would happen as if u had bought the parts ursself. U might get PSU at the garanty the rest u`ve to pay.

I too would never EVER buy a machine from a company, bought a Packard Bell 3 years ago, didn't know any Hardware too, it was intel celeron, the very crappy ones for £799, its something like $900+ if not more, couldn't play a damn game!

I just build a computer 2 weeks ago, well it woke up 2 weeks ago, heres the spec:

Intel Pentium 4 3.2GHz (overclocked it, now its 3.51GHz)
1024MB RAM (I know I know, I'll upgrade soon, enough for the moment)
160GB (I know I know, I'll upgrade soon too)
NVidia Geforce 6600GT 128MB
Dual screen, 19" CRTs
Wacom (for art purposes)

all that is £900-£1000 MAX

Word of advice: Build mate, muild it, its an experience too, you'll tell your friend "Oy, careful there will ya, I build it, its my babe" :)
