cant play on multiplayer

i cant play my map on multiplayer i cant figure out y can anyone give me like a step by step instruction how to upload it so i can play it in an unranked server with a couple guys.

create local server with your map and have yer buddies connect to IP.

Course they have to have the map too

no... i own a unrankedserver and i want to put it on there but whenever i upload it it failed when anyone tried to play on it

be sure to package your map at mod package in the editor. And then copy and paste the mod folder with the Info folder and Server.zip and Client.zip files to the mods/bf2/levels folder.

are there servers that have these maps playable or is it something that u have to setup with ur friends on LAN or internet. Because there are single player downloads and multiplayer downloads. I downloaded like 4 multiplayer maps and put them in :C\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\Levels where it says to put them. I havent tried them online yet but I will in a little bit. I did notice one thing, in the psat 2 weeks there has been some servers that havent been showing up on my list. It might be because I don't have the map or something. But mostly I want to know if these maps are playable on any of the ranked servers.

do i upload all these files to the server like the map folder the server zip and client zip and also do i extract those zip files?

ur not suppose to extract the two zip files that are in the same location as the info folder. Extract the folder that holds the 2 zips and the info folder and put that extracted folder in C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\Levels. The maps that u can play online are already in this location. Put the new extracted folders containing the new maps in here.

you need to package your map correctly. without packaging your map, you cant play online. also dont use the package function in the editor. that is faulty and will give you huge problems especially if you have any undergrowth, overgrowth or roads in your map. we will make a sticky about this in near future so people know how to pack their map manually.
