Best Ways to encourage teamwork??

It seems to be hit or miss. Usually when I join a squad, no one is working like one, which I dont understand. Why in the hell would you join a squad if you arent coordinating attacks like one. Sometimes I create my own and name it teamwork to see if people want to play as a squad, but usually people go and do their own thing. Now I have ran into some people who are genuinely team players, but the thing is, I never knew. Until...

1) I spoke over VOIP, this seems to bring them out the most. When they hear your voice over the mic telling them valuable intel or just saying that you have their back

2)Keeping orders posted. If you just assaulted a flag and took it, either change the order to defend or put the order somewhere else. It peeves me to no end to see a order to attack a flag that is already ours. Plus, when you do this, it tells your squad what you are thinking and where you are headed so that they know to find their way over too.

3) I hate doing this I HATE HATE IT!!!! I dont like staying back from the fray, it diminishes my role as a Support man. I usually dont stay back when Im SL, I know im horrible but I want to have some fun too.

4) Stay in contact with the commander. If you dont want to accept a order from him, tell him why you dont, and usually they will understand, this is the guy that will help you with UAVs and Artillery if you need it. A happy Commander will make your life much easier should you ever need his assistance.

5) Make sure to let your squad know what you need, if you need more anti-tanks, then tell them. I usually am willing to change to what the squad needs if it means that we will be more successful in the long run.

I would agree that utilizing your VOIP is a big plus, just as long as you aren't squaded up with a bunch of smacktards. Also, compliments go a long way -- play to their ego somewhat.

yeah VOIP is the biggest single factor to creating a cohesive team in my opinion. Along these lines -

Always address people by their nicks - it makes the experience much more personal.

Keep complimenting people - as said in previous post.

Quickly get rid of any dead wood - Kick none teamplayers who have their own agenda on the other side of the map - because otherwise a new player entering your squad will think its just a free for all squad, and youll end up with a whole squad of them.

Dont just order them about but ask for suggestions and input. Nobody likes to be ruled by a tyrant.

I think it is important to tell everyone to form on the SL which is hard when the SL is dying a lot. Like you, I hate it, but it is important to keeping the Squad together.

Best way to encourage team work is to team kill everyone camping for planes... jk. Just join a squad with your buddies online and start working as a team, the others will follow.

This only works on VOIP servers but I often say "Whoa bros, we're like the best squad ever, we're so good"

The best tip I have is what I always do: Create a squad called "TEAMWORK". In most games I play in, you get people who use VOIP and listen to orders.

Actually, I kinda turn off VoIP once I hear someone using it. I'm not sure why I leave it on - it usually results in me being treated to some small talk from someone with a really high voice.

Usually I get people who dont join when I do that, but if it works....

Alot of people just never think to join a squad outright, try inviting some peeps and see if they join. A invitation is much more in your face then just joining a squad in the server. If they join up, make sure to welcome them. If they arent being teamplayers, then boot them.

I respect that. Hearing the really young kids with the heavy American accents yelling "you all ****ing suck" over and over again just makes my skin crawl. That said, I've had some really good squad-play with VoIP, and when somebody running behind you dives and helps you flush out an enemy APC, you can't tell me that doesn't build comraderie. It's all hit and miss really.

Hmm,

I agree with most of the points...however, and I have this problem too when SL, hanging back is important...especially when you have a big trek across the map. I know it sucks, but think of it from a team-mates position. Besides it improves the likelihood of capturing a flag.

Otherwise don't be a SL, I guess, or just don't get killed while playin' rambo.

I have trouble finding the people who have the romanticized vision of the squad - everyone has the role, you always stick together, and there is a defined leader and purpose.

Most of my squads consist of two guys in a tank and 3 more guys at 3 different flags. If I try to join a squad with some clanners who stick together, I get kicked.

Ultimately, if I do find a good squad, it only lasts for 10 minutes or less. Once everyone dies it gets too disorganized and people run off to grab other vehicles or do other things.
