Online Dedicated server help?

Ohk, I need help setting up a online dedicated server,(I have a router) I Check internet and I have all of the other numbers and stuff entered. But it gives me 192.168.1.10 as my IP (a local IP), But when im at my friends house (He doesnt have a router) With my comp I can host, Anyone know why? Probably somthing with port forwarding, which ports?

set up 192.168.1.10 as a DMZ.

Ohk, I just tried it, but it was .102 not .10 so i put the dmz host to .102, im pretty sure thats what you would have told me to do, *tries it*

do you show a client try'n to connect in the server console?


did you set-up the EXTERNAL (Cable modem or DSL) IP in the serversettings.con?


can you verify that your DMZ config took hold properly?


whats the error you get? or are you looking in the server browser? (sometimes it takes my servers 10-20 mins to list up).

Dunno wtf any of that ment =) but I know it wont work online because its comming up as a LAN ip, such as 192.168.1.102, thats not an IP that people can connect to through the internet, only in a local network.

Have you downloaded the online dedicated server files from EA?

Have you found out what your actual IP address is and ask your friend to see if he can ping it?

ok do you know the IP of your Internet connection?


dont mind the 192 addy bound in the server screen, the DMZ config should forward everything form the 192.168.whatever to the OUTSIDE internet IP.



find your IP, then have a mate try and connect.
watch the console of the server it'll tell you someone is connecting and give the BF2 ID
