dont get your hopes too high, because BF2 does not give you EAX 4.0 HD as promised on their site, you only get normal EAX (which is good for sure, but not the high def EAX)

there is surround sound in bf2, but not directional suround sound as supported by steam... the difference is this one can give you all 5 speakres with sound, nothing special, directional sound well that lets you hear shots coming from the left side louder in your left speakers so you can hear where it is coming from, bf2 does not support that.

wrong, I can clearly hear shots from different speakers! the positional audio is very good and its true surround

using 5.1 audigy zs

Exactly...BF2's audio is VERY positional!

Somebody shoots at me from straight ahead? I head the shot coming from my front center speaker...if they miss me and hit the wall behind me and to the left, I hear the bullet whizz by and the impact sound comes out of my rear left speaker.
