Do sniper rifles give "hit indicators" on the reticle?

I don't recall ever seeing the "hit indicator" on a sniper rifle, even when I hold down the left mouse button.

    Am I missing something?

your reticle will turn to a little X for a split second if you actually hit someone

Yeah, it actually took me a looooooong time to actually hit somebody for the first time when I tried using a sniper rifle for the first time

With some practice, you will figure out the subtle nuances of the class and will find it easier.

well - the above answers are off a "little"
any weapon will give you a hit indicator
when you actually hit a target
your cross hair will change "form" just a bit
but the sniper has a special indicator
it shows you where you missed !
you have to hold down the mouse button longer, until you get a big red x (well, red for me, because I changed my cross hair to red - default might get a big yellow x)

this was essential for me to learn how to adjust my aim on long shots
