check on the main page of the totalbf2 site and click ranks down the left hand side for a list of all the ranks.

since im so kind I will give you the first few here:p

0 - Private
500 - Private First Class
1000 - Lance Corporal (1st unlock)
10500 - Corporal (2nd unlock)

And the official list somewhere lists it is roughly 1000. In this list the figures look like this:

~500 etc, which means you may need 1005 or something to get to LCpl. I don't think I got mine bang on 1000, although there is a slight stat update delay.

yep they said it correctly 1000k (around there) and then next at a high 10,500k.
