.......sigh* i bought BF2 when it came out..... and i still cant play it :hmm:.
Who here still cant play it.

2.4 Ghz P4
ati radeon x800 pro
1 gb ram

Why can't you play it? My PC sucks balls, I have very little RAM, god knows what GFX card, and even I get to play. Your trying everything on low right? What's the problem you're having?

It crashes to desktop......i click on the BF2 icon and the screen turns black then it goes back to the desktop.....

Well, you're not getting any error messages so it's kinda blind, but I'd uninstall BF2, update my video card drivers, reinstall and try again.

yea ive done that. i got the new ATI drivers.... and reinstalled BF2
theres no error messages...

I'm assuming the install ran OK? No hangups or errors during that?

If so, I really don't know what to tell you. I'm of the fortunate few who are able to run this game inspite of an ancient PC. Hope someone here'll be able to help you out.

I can play in a limited fashion.

As long as I like single player or non ranked servers with no hope of ever unlocking any of the fun weapons. I can play.

So, speaking realistically....I can't still.

Damn rebooting bug.

Is your PC overclocked?
If so, change it back to normal. I had my AMD Athlon over-clocked and BF2 didn't like that, so it kept crashing to the desktop.

Also make sure that all of your processes that are running in the background are deleted. Everything except task manager and explorer.exe. that is under your name. Leave "system" and "networking" alone.
