Game freeze after splash screen..

well, this is very frustrating....

as the topic title says, when i start bf2 the splash screen displays and then after about 30 seconds, the whole computer freezes...forcing me to manually restart the computer. all drivers are up to date and i'm able to play the demo just fine, otherwise i wouldn't have bought the game....this is very irritating...any ideas?

by the way, i reformatted and installed it first thing(after installing the drivers) and it did not work. i'm clueless as to what it is...

What are your system specs? And have you searched the forum? There abour 100 other topics on this exact issue.

Yes, we need your ful system specs if any help is to be given.
If you don't know the go to Start > run and type "Dxdiag" once the program loads click on "save all information" and paste the hardware specific parts of the textfile here.

It was my iomega zip drive, dleted the driver and fixed. Yes weird.

I used to have one of those, the 100MB ones, don't remember having issues with it.

alright, here are my specs:
AMD Sempron 3100+
6600GT AGP
1gb pc3200 RAM
80gb maxtor hd
DFI LANPARTY nf3 250gb UT mobo
xphome sp2

I can run the demo just fine....it runs perfect...but the full version doesn't launch properly or something...

That happened to me too when I had the demo. It turns out that I had some conflicting drivers installed for my graphics card. Suggestion: Uninstall all drivers/components for your graphics card, then install the latest drivers.

It worked for me anyways...

just to let you know, i completely reformated my computer and BF2 was the first thing i installed (after drivers) and it still did not work:|:

try using google for drivercleaner.net read the directions and then reinstall your video drivers. Nvidia and ATI keep parts of old drivers. If you go to my computer and open your hard drive under nvidia you will see it keeps all the old drivers plus the new ones. Conflicting with BF2.

why would it be drivers if i can RUN THE DEMO PERFECTLY? obviously my comp can handle it, obviously my video card can handle it...and if my drivers were effed up, then the demo shouldn't work...
