  • X-Fi Mode refuses to work

Well, I just got my X-fi card, I performed my typical uninstall routine to remove my previous sound card drivers, including a run of Driver Cleaner Pro. So after I installed the X-fi, I decided to try out the X-fi feature on Battlefield 2, clicked apply. Battlefield 2 immediately crashes to desktop. Anyone have any success in getting the game to work with x-fi?

Re: X-Fi Mode refuses to work

Best Buy had exactly 1 Fata1ity in stock, so I got that

Generally the XtremeMusics and Platinums are pretty common among best buy stores, I have only heard one specific case of a Fata1ity being available (which is my case)

I do say that the Red Fata1ity led light on the card looks pretty good in in my Acryllic case

Yeah, the bb near me has the xmusic and platinum.

Im holding out for the fatality though.

The quakecon preorder was $199 for the fatality, and the total with overnight priority shipping was $224.00

Now I just have to have a little patience, something Im not know for. lol.

What is that big black block on the corner of the card?

Is it a connector, or the led light?

Re: X-Fi Mode refuses to work

Well there is a LED light on the block in the Fatal1ity Version, that might be where the ram is as well

Well it looks like I fixed the problem, apparently I didn't clean it well enough, I forgot to delete the Creative folder, that must be why

for anyone who has the x-fi bug, you need to go to creativelabs.com and go through the autoupdate page to get the new (8/22) drivers

                      this fixes it

I am having this same problem. Crashes to the desktop immedietly when you set the card to X-Fi

I have the latest drivers off creative's website via autoupdate.
