Hi. I'm trying to help my friend install BF2 on his Dell. When he got the game, it installed fine, but it didn't run. So he uninstalled. Did this twice.
We discovered that he needed a better video card, so got a Geforce FX 5200, which isn't on EA's list, but I've read several people who have been able to play with that card.
Now, however, the game won't install. It gets halfway thru CD 1 and says "failed to install, please try again."
Thinking the video card caused a problem, we disabled it and went back to the original card via the device manager, and deleted the Nvidia folder. Still won't install. We even got a replacement set of CDs, but that didn't help.
Any ideas? I'm thinking that the original installs/uninstalls left something that is preventing it from installing again.
Any help would be greatly appreciated,
-Emery
