Umm, it says I'm modded...

but Im not. I did open a few things but I didn't change anything, and now when I try to connect to a server it says 'This server does not allow clients with modified somethingorother to connect, blah blah blah.'

Is there any way to fix this without reinstalling? I already tried system restore but that didn't work, surprisingly.

The weird thing is, it doesn't say this when I first join. It lets me load and verify, and as soon as the Join Game button shows up at the bottom of the screen it goes back to the server listings.

Please help.

Delete the BF2 folder in MY DOCUMENTS, the whole thing, empty recycling bin, reboot and try the game again. This will give you NEW PROFILES.

If not do an uninstall/reinstall.

Here is what I had to do. After I patched a few files did not get updated. Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\Objects_client.zip and Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\Levels\Sharqi_Peninsula\client.zip. The updated file should have a modified date of 7/9/2005. I had to burn the update files from a friends computer and copy them to mine. For some reason no matter how many times I reinstalled and repatched they would not update on my computer.

Savage, I was thinking of doing that, just having a friend send over the folder that I opened. Ill try it, thanks.

In case you're wondering why I dont want to reinstall,
1. Takes too much time.
2, and most important.. I lost my manual with the CD Key on it

Have you by any chance removed or renamed the movie that actually play when u start the game. The EA logo, Dice , etc....if so. even if renamed to dice.bik.bak for example.

Some server will detect that as a modified installation and won't let you log on them.

Yes...same thing happens to me and i did change the movie files but now even worse either my account was hacked or somthing happened cuz my password is always incorrect :|:

I got that problem when trying to access ranked servers. Installing the 1.02 patch fixed it for me.
