You need to lead your shot with everything (except the Blackhawk, maybe).

I know about the tank, I'm talking specifically about the APC.

prolly a little of both. i get an 17ping in our server and i still miss stuff that i know i should have hitten. the apc's guns are a touchy sometimes. just treat her good and she'll treat you right!

With the blackhawk you just need to aim anywhere at the ground and you will kill something :p

yes. every weapon has travel time. apc's and tanks more so than rifles and miniguns.

Guys, lets not derail the thread about Black-hawk whoring.

17ms ping, wow. I usually have a ping around 50ish and it seems that I have to lead my shots by a quarter of my target's width, especially with helicopters.

Don't think you have to lead too much. I know there is a lag compensation in the server.con file, no idea how it works though.

I will tell you though, that being on the receiving end of APC fire, the lag compensation kicks in noticably. I've been shot by "magic" bullets, you know the ones that turn corners.... I've fired an AT rocket, then sprinted a good 5-6 meters around a corner and still gotten shot by the APC, dying halfway through the alley. Unless APCs can fire through the row of buildings in Karkand...

with the APCs i just aim at peoples lower feet and legs, cuz the APC rounds blow up, and cause damage to the area around the area of the direct hit, so they cant bunny hop.

That's what I do. No matter what I do, the bullets never seem to register when trying to go for a headshot. Sometimes I see it, but apparently the server doesn't, and it looks like they take 5 or so round to the chest. :P Aiming at the ground is a more consistant way of hitting infantry I do belelive.
