I don't usually leave them there "just in case"

It's just that the act of C4ing equipment is SO quick that as a sniper you hardly have time to either
      A) get the head shot lined up
      B) get off the second shot

So when I heard the UAV trailer was destroyed, I knew there was a hostile spec ops in the area. Rather than go 1 on 1 with a spec-ops, I just claymored the arty gun and went back to my game. Knowing that would be one of his next targets.

How many times as a friendly have you gone to look at the Arty guns or trailers. Very little I would guess, thats why enemy spec-ops manage to destroy them.

Place the claymore close to the arty gun, facing in toward the gun and it's only the spec-ops who get close enough to go BOOM

I rarely see snipers using them, I know they look too much like c4.
I use them far away from friendlies, deep in enemy territory.
If I kill a sniper in enemy territory I will switch kits and place the claymores and switch back.

I don't use claymores at all anymore. Placing them on ladders is stupid because you are not the only person that will use a rooftop. Besides that rooftops are a shit sniping spot if you want to stay hidden. I play sniper differently than I used to partly because I play with low detail so I can only see so much. I always keep moving. Move spot vehicles or large troop movement and engage when I'm ready. I get plenty of points this way and make good use of my rifle. The only time I would use a claymore is if I bait someone to chase me around a corner which is always fun.

            Re: A question for snipers

i use claymore when i get a good sniping position setup, and i dont want anyone flanking me, so i will booby trap the area where i could get flanked.

that or if someone is chasing me around, i will go around a corner, and plant one, so they get their azz blown off when they go head around the corner

Just stick them on vital areas that the enemy use frequently. Eg, the USMC travel along the shallow end of the river on Dragon Valley. Stick them there, dotted around... There's nothing better than dropping a claymore somewhere, you wait for a while, but there's no enemy movement. Then as you re-locate to the other side of the map, you get a kill.

If you dont claymore, your giving up one of your strongest offensive and defensive weapons.

Claymore an enemy spawnpoint. Claymore routes you KNOW an enemy is going to take. When In doubt, play around deeper in enemy territory and put claymores where theyre likely to run thru in the next few mins.

Its vital you claymore a ladder or etc if you are on a building. The idea with sniping is you want to put yourself in such a position that fire can only come from directly ahead of you, and that you have an advantage over the guy shooting you. Albeit cuz your hiding in a bush in a dark corner of the map, or etc, but the idea is to have 1-2 fields of fire and as few blind spots as possible. Claymores help out here!

put claymores on the way to important vehicles in the enemy's main base... like tanks or apcs. or stationary weapons like tow... or stinger.

in a way you are right, and u have a good idea, i hate when i cant get to a place because some **** sniper on my team placed one somewhere.

Yeah, know your type all to well But i agree, some ppl put them in the most stupid areas. But to intentionally walk over them and punish is just childish

I use them both when I'm sniping by a flag that was just capped by an ememy, and to lay traps for when I am about to die. On Shar'Qui Penunsula, I was under the crane beign attacked by a load of enimies, so I layed claymores just before I died and after I spawned, saw that I killed 2 enimes.
