Why doesn't this game have a Queue to join server?

In retrospect this thread should be in the Server section:

So many times I want to join my friends on a server but its full. I sit there spamming connect to try to get on...really annoying.

Over teamspeak my friend tells me when the round is about to end and then I spam invite.

Why don't they have a "Queue"...something like this:



When you press 'YES' it displays this dialog:



When you press 'NO' is spits you back to the server browers.

Once you connect it will load the map (like if it wasn't full).

Yeah great idea, and we know it's possible. Perhaps in a future patch... :)

As I said in the other thread, use BF2 Auto-loader which has a built-in auto join function when a slot becomes free.

Well for anyone whos played CS , counterstrike or any Sierra/Valve games their server queue and whole system works amazingly i find it to be one of the best and most effecient it lets you do things like auto join when a free slot is open or notify me when one is a library of your history on which servers you went a favorites list this is also apart of the program used to play these guys Steam which is also by far very easy and organized to use

Bf2 has a lot of messed up crap in my opinion because sometimes when i adjust the filters it doesnt read and stuff so it sucks really

I should had deleted this post because I put it in General.

I originally thought that it would have to be a server option to allow for a queue, but your BF2 autoloader kinda works. The problem with it is your load time.

See if I take a long time to load the game then I miss the window, which could be literially seconds.

Yes, it's a bitch isn't it !

The problem is that BF:2 atm doesn't allow you to boot the game up and then run the autoloader so that you don't have to go through the loading process.
At least the program does cut out the intro videos to make it a little faster.


Another solution, whic is in tip&tricks I think, is to use ForcePaste. With this program you can use BF2 autoloader or ASE or xXfire to find the server you want to join, copy the IP address, ALT-TAB abck to BF:2 which you had running in the backgroups and paste it into the 'Connect to IP' box.
It's not the same as auto-join but at least you get to join that server you've been trying to.
