check your hard drive controllers for fastest access mode: start-control panel-system-hardware-device manager and look for IDE/ATA Controllers or whatever you have for SATA and make sure its set to fastest setting. I am thinking one of the patches was so screwed up it reset the value to a "safe"(lower) speed. I found mine in PIO mode when it should have been in ULTRA DMA etc etc and here is a quote from a guy who had asked me on the side what the fix was:I got it all figured out now. Sure enough, I checked my primary and secondary IDE controllers and both were set to PIO mode. I switched them back to DMA and BF2 works like a dream again. Thanks a ton!
