im runnin on an amd 64 3000+ with a gig of dual channel ram and a nvidia geforce fx 5700le. whenever i try to turn the video settings for bf2 up past low, the game gets choppy. what can i do to enhance my performance?

hmm. i would sugegst overclocking ur card seeing its crap anyways. get the ati tool iu can overclock ur video card with that and also controll fan speed so u can make faster for more cooling. but u should be able to put some things on medium with that card cause i did with my fx 5200

I think it's safe to say that your vid card is the bottleneck in your system. The best price to performance card out now is the ATI X800XL. The Nvidia 6600GT and up also work well.

I just bought a 9600XT 256mb for $81.00 on new egg.

Okay, this card rocks..based soley on the fact that I WAS using a 5200FX ultra....night and day difference. I can run all medium without any lag..im tempted to push it to go med-high. I have the same setup as you

AMD 64 3000+ Athlon
512 mb DDR 2700
ATi 9600XT

So I am running half the ram and its still butter smooth. Right now I have my gig of ram split between two machines till I can buy a gig for the 3.06HT

If you dont want to break the bank get a 9600XT
