Just been playing on a few unranked servers to try out the various unlockable weapons.

The L85A1 (my only unlock so far) seems terribly weak, and pathetic close range, which alot of this game seems to be.

I really REALLY wish I had unlocked the G36c, it seems so accurate, and with the accuracy and high ROF, it is so easy to carve through enemies. The only downside of it, it churns up the ammo, and you find yourself reloading after each single enemy encounter, resulting in you running out of ammo quickly.

I know there are already several(thousand) threads on this kind of thing, but what are everyones opinions on the L85A1's damage per shot? I know it has 2 more damage than the M16A2 on statistics table, but IN MY OPINION the M16 seems much more powerful

So yeah, in short, what are everyones opinions on the L85A1's damage? Too weak? Too powerful? Or alright as it is?

PS, Definately unlocking the G36c next, then the G3 in a few years time (lol) when I reach the next rank.

I have the l85, g36c and m95. Let me shed some light here =P

To effectively use the l85a1 you pretty much have to make a huge change to your playstyle. You gotta hang back and sneak around and pick people off to really make the best of it imo, or your better off using an AK/m16.

The g36c... okay I know alot of people really adore this gun, but for me, single shot plinking with say the ak74u was fugging great, the g36c just seems to be more about full auto fire, which im not too big of a fan of to begin with. Most any of the unlocks are really not gonna make you amazing overnight. And for me, alot of the time the base weapons are better.

obvious exceptions being say, the chinese sniper rifle, m16 vs g3, etc =P

i unlocked the meidc gun and after it i quit playing as medic

That is completely illogical. Isnt the idea of a medic to be "in the fray" so to speak, healing and reviving? Theyre not going to be much use hanging around, and sneaking around picking people off spec ops style.

I think if Dice decided for the gun to be used that way, its really stupid.

On the contrary to many of these posts, I feel that the L85 is a great gun. Of course it can be overpowered in close quarters by a few guns, but set to single fire, its accuracy is astounding for medium to long ranged encounters. Medics should typically trail a squad, covering their flank while providing healing support if needed. It is because of this that when playing as a medic, you should get opportunities to pick off targets from afar, due to your enemy's preoccupation with your frontlined squad. So many people badmouth this gun as being too weak but in my opinion (for what its worth) it is a perfect gun when utilized properly in battle. A gun doesn't make a soldier, tactics do.

I find tht its much better at pickin people off wiv single sht, but maybe its weak gun cos its for medics who are probabl expected to heal people more than killin em so they can pick off a few and let the rest of the squad sort em out while u get ready to heal em :)

The M16 is powerful - it all really boils down to accuracy and skill. And as for unloading your clip...work on your accuracy and you're ammo count will go up

i personally like fighting in CQC than hanging back, so this gun was a disappointment to me. The shots have such a large deviation despite their power, thats its virtually impossible to kill someone if youre standing in their face. only useful for standing away from a fight and using single shot
