    BF2 & Win x64

Yesterday I partitioned my drive and installed the 180 day trial copy of WindowsXP x64 Edition.

I was intrigued to find out if there was a significant performance increase when playing 3d games like BF2 using the new 64 bit O/S.

So the question is, was there? Well yes I think ! It's hard to say really, one thing for sure is there was a noticeable improvement with the stuttering, or lack of.

So im interested to know if any of you guys have installed x64 and have you seen any performance increase?

PS: I had to scour the internet for 64bit drivers for my X800 Pro.

They have x64 drivers on the ATI website....

The official website is allways a good place to check for the drivers first

I use XP64, but havent tried the game on anything else :P

But it runs fine for me..... moving from 1gb RAM to 1.5 really helped ALOT in the loading times and the initial stuttering on the first spawn

Ive got win x64 and the 32 bit version and i play it on both OS's often but dont notice any difference between the two. There shouldnt be any difference between the two cos BF2 only uses the processor as a 32 bit one rather than a 64 bit one as its a 32bit program. Maybe you were just playing on a less laggy server while using the x64 OS?
