BF2 and EA- why do other companies show more support?

EA's lack of community support is fairly well documented in forums and consumer complainsts.

Now, what makes them this way? Look at Blizzard for example. Their games are filled up to the teeth in community support- patches that actually fix imbalances, fantastic netcode with battle.net. This is from my experience with WC3 and StarCraft, although I don't know as much about WOW.

When I played Rise of Nations, I had the same problem. There was no support from Big Huge Games/Microsoft. Patches were few and far between, and the online community was under 200 players worldwide.

What's the turning point? It can't be the companies size, because Blizzard is huge, perhaps not as big as EA, but still huge after their popular games have done so well.

I agree with both points, as a former Diablo II player. Blizzard's support was very well organized and actually supported as opposed to EA's "support." I will say this though- EA has gone so far as to apologize which is a step in the right direction. Another thing to EA's credit (as of late) is that they are recognizing errors and miscalculations instead of just ignoring them.

EA's support is no more or less than other big publishers.

well correct me if I'm wrong, but bf2 really does not have as many glitches and bugs as other games. You see valve always updating source, they have been for a year ever since it came out, and that's because it had tons of bugs and when they released it it wasn't at all finished.

But in regards to content.. source does get new maps, bf2 gets nothing. I really don't mind though because I appreciate bf2 maps are WAY harder to make then source maps (if you have ever used valve hammer editor you will realise it's very easy).

Hl2 was more finished when it came out then bf2 will probably ever be if I have to go by EA's past record.

As a long time BHD player, and a beta tester for J.O and J.O.E, Nova Logic and EA are about the same when it comes to customer satisfaction. The thing is with Nova Logic they came out with three or four patches for BHD and then stopped any support for the game, the same goes for J.O and J.O.E. Hopefully EA will not do this, but I would not hold my breath.
