Thoughts on the defibrillator

I was thinking about the defibrillator the other day, and I was wondering why in BF2 it isn't possible to simply walk up to a tank, and eletrocute every one inside.
They're made out of metal, and metal conducts electricity (particularly lethal electricity at that)

Well there a few problems with this. The soldiers are wearing gloves and other nonconducting materials making it difficult for the charge to pass from tank to person. Plus the tank is grounded so the electricity would simply run into the ground.

I'm guessing it is not enough power... and the game won't (hopefully) go that realistic. I like it the way it is.

i knew there would be holes in this plan, thanks for pointing them out before EA got too excited about something good to add in. (or whatever)

its just a funny idea that would be absolutely class if it could actually happen.

if it slowly drained life of the people inside, like the rate of holding a med pack to heal someone, would be balanced nouf to use and hellishly funny.

Its the future of BF2 - Spec ops and c4s are no longer used, and Medics are the ultimate class. You can heal yourself and others, get a good weapon and nades.

But the best part? blindsiding a tank and electrocuting its occupants, leaving it free for your teams use.

What about planes and choppers? could you jump from a plane and land on a chopper or plane and electrocute everyone..then ride it down to the ground (or jump in a steal it for yourself).

Long gone are the arguments "get out of my chopper, its mine"
Now its "get out of my chopper" ok then...ZZAAAP!

I think there should be a feature where you can climb onto a tank, open the hatch, drop a grenade and leap off in slow motion as the tank explodes into a million pieces to the soundtrack of a Michael Bay movie.
Then, I think that a new class, an "investigator" class can gather all the tank pieces and put them back together and gain victory points when they determine who blew it up and put them on BF2 trial.

what about, if you got a medic and an engineer on an urban map working together.

get the engineer to use his wrench on a fire hydrant so it shoots water out across the street and the medic throws his defibrillators into the jet of water.

presto, everybody that walks through the water gets electrocuted!

What about, on Gulf of oman, why dont the MEC medics just chuck their defibrillators into the sea and electrocute everyone in it! (and everyone on the carrier too!)

Defibrillators don't have enough charge to kill someone by themselves, let alone create a current in a puddle made by a fire hydrant. Someone mentioned earlier that people inside a tank would be safe from electric shock because they wear rubber gloves. This is false, cars aren't protected from electric currents (ie, lightning) even though they have large rubber tyres.

of course they do. you just dont want us using the secret uber medic tactic.

This is false, cars aren't protected from electric currents (ie, lightning) even though they have large rubber tyres.

wearing rubber gloves would protect you from weak shocks. a bolt of lightning usually has a higher charge than a battery operated set of shock paddles.

unless.. the medic carries like a personal battery pack the size of a small country. that should give it enough Ummphh.

Defibrillators have enough shock to, for lack of a better word, shock someone. Defibrillators only have enough charge to repolarise the heart, there isn't enough charge in it to kill a healthy human being. And glasseye, no, you wouldn't be protected from any sort of charge by wearing rubber gloves.
