How do you have over a thousand sniper rifle kills without realizing that there IS travel time for bullets? There has been ever since bf 1942.

There also might be bullet drop. I seem to get one shot kills more often at extremely long ranges when I aim a pixel above the head instead of right on top, but it could just as easily be the bullet spread.

That's true - but as someone that (unfortunately) did a course on simulating physics with computers, I wouldn't call it a 'model'. (the bullet is likely to be represented by a infinitely thin rod without mass/momentum moving in a straight line, and the first thing it intercepts gets hit). Whereas the tank shells etc. are at least affected by external forces.

I know what you mean... but as far as I can tell this is most likely due to bugs in LoD and hit detection .

BF2 does have bullet drop but its dependent on a certain distance. What im trying to say is that at a certain range the bullet will drop a certain amount but no more once you retreat.
-for exaple i will be on a food looking at 2 snipers. i will line up the sho and Aim 4 the head but it will miss...3 times in a row. So i aim just a tad above his head and shoot and boom hese dead. this shows a small bullet drop. But when i take a step closer to the edge and shoot all of a sudden there is no bullet drop just because im a step closer. I think the bullet drops a copule of centemeters for every 200 meters or so...
-this dosent really affect yo cause on most maps the visibility is about 150 meters

bullets dont drop in BF2. you can shoot a guy with an M16 from 300m just as if you would shoot him up close. you dont have to aim higher or adjust sites (not that you can) or anything. point and click is the name of the game.

now of course you have to lead people when they're moving, especially when they're running.

all it shows is the random deviation that is in the game.
