    Gutted with performance

    I have:

    Pentium 2.8
    1 Gig of RAM
Radeon 9800 pro with the latest Catalysts drivers and settings as recommended in various posts
    2 Meg BT Broadband
    Monitor performing at 70Hz
Stopped my anti virus software whilst running

Like others in this forum, I have spent more time trying to get this game to run smooth than actually playing it!

The funny thing is that the in game settings seem to make little difference - Whether I run the game with all settings on low or medium is seem to get massive amounts of lag. The game looks prettier with higher settings but suffers from the same lag issues.

Mt FPS is generally in the 40 - 60 range (which I think is low), but takes major dips and the game is becoming frustrating to play - I am getting killed in 50% of cases because of lag and not able to get a shot away!

    Any ideas?

Is there any way that I can check the performance of my broadband - if so how and what would a good performance be?

I have done everything that I can and now am close to giving up on this game.

In in the same shitty situation. 6600gt p43.0 1540 ddr ram and it is a damn slideshow

and people with the same setup are running everything on high

I could run the demo fine @ medium with 1024 x768. Bought the game no such luck.

    wtf

No. It runs at low (800x600) but slows right down at times to around 10fps (usually when im playing topgun but other times as well) at medium. And my card is higher end then yours

I uped the apeture size and it really helped alot. It's quite playable on high settings now. Check your ram and adjust it accordingly. Worked for me.

In your system BIOS, can be accessed by holding down a certain key when starting up the system.

It was just there in mine - AGP Aperture Size was listed!

If you post you PC model type, I'm sure that someone will be able to help.

                              Check under your voltage controls.

I think in a Phoenix BIOS its listed under Voltage Settings or Onboard Settings.
