Unique nick already in use

I was trying to create a new account, and I'm entering in Nicks i know aren't taken but they say already in use. Now I could be wrong and they could be taken but i'll even try a random series of numbers on the end and it still says in use. Has this happened to anyone else?

Yeah because of that there were many nicks I couldn't have which no one else couldn't of had.

Nope , i got the game early so i had many choices , but i usaly always use the same

No its a mistake in the game I think. I tried really ridiculous choices that Im sure no one had, and they were still taken.

That happened to me on the demo. The reason was that my current e-mail was already registered by GameSpot, so I just used another email and put the nicname I wanted and it worked. Hopefully it'll work for you.

I usually go by 'bootymac' but it was taken oddly enough

i got my name registered a few hours after the demo came out. been using the same one since.

Try changing your email, there's no verification so it doesn't matter if you use a fake one.

kinda off topic. this happened to me with aim who in the world besides me has a nick alkajazz? so i had to add gay numbers to the end of it.

It just seems to happen with anything as often someody, somewhere has already taken your intended user or nickname.
