Actually, the layout of this base would make for a great city map.
And speaking of which, that's another great map idea. A MEC raid of an american air base.
As far as I know, there aren't any maps of the Americans defending on their own soil.

I WANT CREDIT FOR THE IDEA ON WHOEVER MAKES THAT MAP!!!
    sorry i didnt no

and yes that does sound like a gd map i may look into thats

        1. You should let the players have access to the whole city (64 player map) meaning you should push the border out to the desert. I found it a bit troublesome to be trapped in a tight alley caught between enemy fire from one way and "death from desertion" the other way.
Although its a great map, I have to agree. For both realism and gameplay, more open ways/the desert should be opened. The map is practically dumbed down so strategy is not possible for an assault on an outpost. The enemy knows that you will be comming down that skinny alley no matter what...

        Again, great map. Seems proffesional.

ive only tried the 16 player map, but its too much like a fixed path where you only have 1 path and its the only path, i didnt notice any alleys to creep down. and i also noticed that the USMC side didnt have any armor at their main base but the MEC side did.

am working hard in trying to free up more of thge map,
yea th USMC do not have any tanks ect because i wanted it to be more realistic.
USMC are going to to retrieve some import data(aerial photos from the shot down f15) and hold there postion untill the front of the USMC arive so the send in the nearest unit(foot solders) to try and retrieve the data

The map is cooler than I thought. I just found about about the Infantry only ways over the buildings and such. Pretty cool.

                        Re: [RELEASE]Medina City

I liked the layout and premise of the map.

However, there are some things that could be tweaked.

                        1. The lighting quality isn't that great. Cars seem to show off this effect pretty well. Objects are too "light". They don't feel or look like they belong in the world.

                        2. The shoreline on the beach. The terrain dips down too much and it exposes the leg and walls of the shacks. It looks like its hovering.

                        3. The clipping issue on the sidewalk leading up to the jet crash. Left hand side if you're walking up to the crash site from the USA's route.

Other than those issues, it looks fun. I wish more servers were running it.

Hey Viper been trying to contact you all day

names Plunk and ive created a custom map called valley_of_violence

my Qs to you is you crash in the middle of the city looks awesome and it has a major difference compared to a large number of other mappers attempts...

A: you can walk near it and B: you can shoot at it

how the hell did you do this if you dont mind me asking... a large number of the community simply cant get fire or smoke to work

for example i got mine to work as far as walking near it and even shooting small rounds into it but if i fired a larger calibre rifle into it or threw in a grenade BOOOM CTD

ny help would be greatly appreciated and you can contact me through this forum or directly at Sirplunkalot@hotmail.com

Ps AJO Clan Server running this custom map plus many others at

                                Re: [RELEASE]Medina City

I've added smoke and fire to a heap of test maps and my Paqur city map, and not once have I had a problem with them. try following these steps :

add all your fire and smoke and whatnot into your level.
                                compile lightmaps
                                generate lightmap atlas
                                generate particle atlas
                                generate decal atlas
                                generate ground hemi

I do this after I change anything in any of my maps. seems to fix alot of problems having all of these generated and up to date
