Note:If you care about your online stats, points, and your self-worth is determined by what rank you have in BF2, this suggestion is not for you.
Create a new BF2 account, and acquire your points whichever way you wish, and when you rank to Lance Corporal (1000 points) you can select any weapon as an unlock.
If you want to try another unlock, simply repeat by creating a new account, and attaining your first rank.
This way, instead of having to gain 300,000+ points in order to unlock and try each weapon, you can easily try out any weapon of choice by attaining Lance Corporal to do it.
A little shortcut that you may not be aware of. My main account (Corporal) has 2 unlocks (G3 & DAO12) since I play AT mainly. I wanted to experiment with the other guns and recently unlocked PKM, now going to unlock the Assualt upgrade.
Since I don't give a crap about stats or rank (though I do well most games), at least I can have fun running around with a particular weapon I am in the mood for and don't have to play 24/7 to unlock them.
