Missing models?

I dont think ive seen anyone bring this up yet here at tbf2.com but if it has come up already i appologize, but whatever happen to those MEC models that were shown in the earlier movies. this link shows who im talking about.

I guess the model was to guerilla looking and not much like an organized military soldier would look, but i dont know.

I think they were changed simply because the MEC is supposed to be an army, not a rebel movement. It would be hard to imagine that an army armed with some of the most hi-tech military equipment in the world would not be able to afford proper uniforms. Also, why would they be wearing face masks? Which authorities are they supposed to be hiding from?

I do agree that they look more interesting, but it doesn't fit continuity wise.
